Vietnam: Camel Beer breaks ground on new beer and beverage plant in Can Tho city

Camel Beer Co., Ltd has broken ground on a VND2.78 trillion ($106.78 million) beer and beverage plant in Can Tho city, as the Vietnamese brewer expands its production capacity and distribution network in southern Vietnam, The Investor reported on September 22.

The Camel Hau Giang beer and beverage plant covers 10.7 hectares at Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Park. The first phase requires an investment of more than VND1.8 trillion ($69.19 million), with a capacity of 150 million liters a year. Commercial production is set for 2027.

Once fully operational, the plant will produce 200 million liters of beer and 200 million liters of non-alcoholic beverages annually.

According to the business’s financial plan, the facility is expected to generate average annual revenue of about VND5.7 trillion ($219.1 million) and contribute around VND1.5 trillion ($57.66 million) to the state budget.

At the groundbreaking ceremony last Sunday, Nguyen Thanh Long, Camel’s general director of domestic commercial operations, said the plant is expected to become one of its key production hubs in southern Vietnam.

The facility will allow Camel to strengthen its supply capacity and improve service and competitiveness, Long said.

Products manufactured at the plant will have faster access to markets in the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City, and southeastern Vietnam, while also being connected to the brewer’s nationwide distribution network, he stated.

According to Expert Market Research, Vietnam’s beer market is projected to reach $19.27 billion by 2035, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 6.6% during the 2026-2035 period.
