Vietnam: ThaiBev reaffirms long-term commitment to Vietnam
Brewery news

Thai Beverage Plc (ThaiBev) has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Vietnam following a high-level meeting in Hanoi with the country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, underscoring the Group’s confidence in Vietnam as a strategic production hub and investment base within its regional growth strategy, the Bangkok Post reported on December 9.

The discussions highlighted ThaiBev’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Vietnamese authorities to develop a sustainable value chain and strengthen the Group’s contribution to the local economy.

Industry and Trade Minister Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed ThaiBev’s continued engagement and acknowledged the Group’s longstanding contributions to Vietnam’s economic and social development. He said Vietnam encourages investors with long-term strategies to participate not only in consumer markets but also in agricultural supply chains and strategic production sectors.

During the meeting, ThaiBev Group CEO Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi expressed strong confidence in Vietnam’s investment climate and reaffirmed the Group’s intention to build a long-term, sustainable presence in the country. He said ThaiBev would continue to invest responsibly in technology upgrades, production quality and consumer experience, while contributing to the improvement of living standards for Vietnamese consumers.

Senior representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, ThaiBev’s management team and executives of Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (SABECO) also attended the meeting.

ThaiBev acquired a 53.59% stake in SABECO from the Vietnamese government in 2017, strengthening the brewer’s position as Vietnam’s market leader and a core pillar of ThaiBev’s regional expansion. Since then, the Group has supported SABECO in enhancing operational efficiency, diversifying its product portfolio — including the flagship Bia Saigon brand — and advancing sustainable production practices. The partnership has also contributed to job creation, technology transfer and broader industry development.

Mr Thapana said the achievements made over the years reflect the Group’s commitment and confidence in Vietnam’s long-term potential. He added that ThaiBev looks forward to continued collaboration with the Ministry, local communities and business partners to enhance competitiveness and build a value-driven future for the sector.
