Monaco & UK: Monte Carlo Beer enters UK distribution and production agreement with Molson Coors
Monaco's Monte Carlo Beer has entered a distribution and production agreement in the UK with Molson Coors Beverage Company, Yahoo! Finance reported on August 7.
The partnership sees Molson Coors launch a new 4.8% abv lager for Monte Carlo Beer. Brewing of the product takes place at the Blue Moon brand owner's Burton and Tadcaster breweries.
It is being sold on draught in "select UK venues", the brewing major said. It launched onto the market at the end of July.
Molson Coors confirmed to Just Drinks that it has also bought Monte Carlo Beer’s “trademark portfolio” for the UK market as part of the agreement.
William Scheffer and Anthony Orengo, co-founders of Monte Carlo Beer, are still the owners of the Monégasque-based company, the Miller Lite brewer said.
Commenting on the news, Orengo said: “Molson Coors has a proven track record when it comes to working with partners across Europe to bring new innovations to the UK market.
"They’ve had huge success with brands such as Rekorderlig, Madri Excepcional and Staropramen. So, working with them to create this special addition to the portfolio was an opportunity we simply couldn’t pass up.”
Founded in 2019, Monte Carlo Beer Monaco is distributed mostly in Monaco and the French Riviera. Its products are brewed near Nice in France.
While the business has had some limited sales outside Monaco, the latest partnership represents its first major international expansion, said Molson Coors.
Monte Carlo Beer's portfolio includes a blonde ale, amber ale, and IPA.
A 330ml bottled format of its is set for October 2025. it will also be available exclusively in UK on-trade venues.

When asked whether Molson Coors would work with the Monaco business to sells its beers in other international markets, Molson Coors said there were no plans at the moment, but that there was potential for expanding to other global markets down the line.
Last month, Molson Coors also struck a distribution deal with Hensol Castle Distillery, exclusively for the UK on-trade.
Initially, the deal will focus on gin and rum sold under the Hensol Castle brand and vodka and gin marketed under the Benjamin Hall brand.
