Bosnia's Serb Republic government is going to make a renewed attempt to sell a majority stake in its leading brewer Banjalucka Pivara.

Predrag Radic, the company's general director, reported that the management and the government's privatisation authorities were working on details for a new tender offer. The tender is expected to be published by mid-August. However, Predrag Radic said that he was personally not convinced of the need for a strategic investor.

The initial tender in 2000 was won by the Belgian brewing group, Interbrew, which offered $40.2 million for a 53.9% stake. However, the deal failed because of the disagreements on how the company would be run after privatisation.
