Brewery news

Total beer deliveries from Cypriot factories, encompassing both domestic consumption and exports, experienced a 4% reduction in May 2025 compared to the same month last year, Philenews reported on June 5.

This overall decline was primarily driven by an 8% drop in deliveries for domestic consumption, even as exports recorded a significant annual increase of 83.9%, according to data released by the Statistical Service on Thursday.

Specifically, total beer deliveries amounted to 4,497,608 litres in May 2025, down from 4,682,575 litres in May 2024. Deliveries for domestic consumption showed an 8% decrease, falling to 4,115,967 litres from 4,475,044 litres in May 2024. Conversely, beer exports saw a substantial 83.9% rise, increasing to 381,641 litres from 207,531 litres in May of the previous year.

Over the first five months of 2025, total beer deliveries decreased by 2.4%, or 378,619 litres, to 15,422,120 litres, compared to 15,800,739 litres in the corresponding period of 2024. Deliveries for domestic consumption saw a significant 16.1% reduction.
