Belgian brewery Duvel Moortgat announced September 09 the 100% acquisition of fellow Belgian brewery d'Achouffe. The acquisition added a superb brand to the Duvel Moortgat portfolio of fine craft beers, and it also offers opportunities for further growth of the d’Achouffe brand.

“Duvel Moortgat has the knowledge and resources to help d'Achouffe realize its ambitions to keep on growing in the future, in Belgium and abroad, offering strong logistical and commercial support,” says Chris Bauweraerts, one of the founders of d'Achouffe.

According to Michel Moortgat, of Duvel Moortgat, "La Chouffe and McChouffe are high-quality craft beers that will complement the portfolio of Duvel Moortgat.”

Brasserie d'Achouffe was founded in 1982 by the brothers-in-law Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts. It is located in the heart of the Ardennes; in Houffalize, Belgium. D’Achouffe is well-known for brewing the blonde Belgian ale "La Chouffe" as well as the dark ale "McChouffe".

Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat was founded in 1871, and is located Puurs, Belgium. Duvel Moortgat craft beers include the world-renowned Duvel Golden Ale, and other fine brands including Maredsous, Vedett, and Bel Pils.
