Brewery news

Some 600 workers at Carlsberg AS' Fredericia brewery have gone on strike, Danish news agency Ritzaus Bureau reported, citing senior shop steward, Hans Andersen, Forbes released September 08.

Andersen told Ritzaus Bureau that negotiations between management and employees have been ongoing for 3-4 months in order to determine conditions for the transfer of production from Valby, Copenhagen to Fredericia, which is situated on the peninsula of Jutland, the mainland part of Denmark.

“But the management has suddenly withdrawn its proposal, a move which has angered the employees,” said Andersen.

The brewery workers will return to work September 10 at 11 pm at the earliest.
