Brewery news

Saint Arnold Brewing, the oldest craft brewery in Texas, is preparing to re-introduce its award-winning Saint Arnold Oktoberfest seasonal, Market Wire released August 28.

One of Saint Arnold Brewing's five seasonal beers, Saint Arnold Oktoberfest is true to the Oktoberfest tradition, blending three different types of Munich-style malt to provide a rich caramel flavor and using two central European noble hop varieties: Czech Saaz and Tettnanger.

"The annual introduction of Saint Arnold Oktoberfest signals that fall is upon us, no matter what the meteorologists say," said Brock Wagner, founder of Saint Arnold Brewing Company, which is the oldest microbrewery in Texas. "Because the Oktoberfest celebration revolves around good-tasting, full-flavored beer, the annual re-introduction of Saint Arnold Oktoberfest is eagerly anticipated throughout Texas."

Saint Arnold Oktoberfest was introduced into the brewery's rotation of seasonal offerings in 1997 and has been judged among America's best. It was recognized with the Bronze Medal in the Scottish Ale category at the Great American Beer Festival in both 2001 and 2000.

Beginning September 1, 2006, Saint Arnold Oktoberfest will be available on tap and in 12-ounce bottles sold in six-packs and cases. It will be available throughout Texas at grocery and liquor stores, bars and restaurants.
