E-Malt.com News article: Germany: Early area malting barley crop yields average results
Barley news

Analysts commented that Southwest Germany early areas have concluded harvesting Vanessa winter malting barley crop. Even if crop forecasts were extremely optimistic, yields were only average ranging from 6.5 to 7.0 t/ha. The average protein content totalled 10.8%.

Spring malting barley harvest season is estimated to start July 17. Yield forecasts for spring malting barley are less optimistic. In fact, because of high temperatures and late sowing, crops are estimated at below average levels. The weather will be extremely important for the late sowed areas. Markets provide that malting barley demand is presently superior to the offer.
