Initial public offering for Beer Thai Co. is likely to take place during 2003, said Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities, the financial adviser for Beer Thai according to Bangkok Post.

Bangkok Post said Beer Thai and the Thai convenience store operator, CP Seven Eleven, were both planning IPOs for the coming year. Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities was said to be the financial advisor for both companies.

The two IPOs would be the largest share offerings by Thai private companies in recent years.

Merrill's Chief Executive Suvit Mapaisansin said Beer Thai plans to raise THB20 billion-THB30 billion but gave no other details regarding CP Seven Eleven's IPO.
