Lakeport Brewing Income Fund announced July 06 that Teresa Cascioli, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, was selected as a finalist in the 13th Annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year(R) Award, CNW informed July 06.

Ms. Cascioli was previously the recipient of the 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year(R) Award in the Turnaround Category. "I am extremely grateful to be recognized as a finalist among such extraordinary entrepreneurs. I am thankful to our loyal Ontario drinkers who continue to enjoy Lakeport's great product offerings and make us all successful as a result. I represent the many hardworking employees at Lakeport who, as a team, strive to deliver Great Beer at Fair Prices. Many thanks to Ernst & Young from all of us!" said Cascioli.

The finalists are selected in a number of business categories. Ms. Cascioli forms part of the "Business-to-Consumer Products and Services" category for the Ontario Region. Cascioli is now one of 49 entrepreneurs who have demonstrated leadership, drive and innovation that form part of the impressive list of nominees.

Lakeport Brewing Income Fund is an Ontario-based brewery focused on producing value-priced quality beer for the Ontario take-home market. Lakeport pioneered the "24 for $24" value segment. Lakeport produces nine proprietary beer brands, two of which, Lakeport Honey Lager and Lakeport Pilsener, are amongst the top ten selling brands in the province of Ontario. Lakeport has approximately 200 full-time employees at its production facility in Hamilton, Ontario. The Fund's units trade on the TSX under the symbol TFR.UN (TFR stands for 'two-four').

The Entrepreneur of the Year(R) Awards honour entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in the areas such as innovation, risk taking, company development, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The program was founded by Ernst & Young to celebrate great entrepreneurs and heighten awareness of the economic impact of entrepreneurial ventures.
