Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery, the largest beer producer in Moldova, introduced a new product on Monday, January 30– the Vitanta Premium Extra beer, BASA-Press communicated.

"The product is a result of the continued rise of demand for "light" beer, a feature of foreign markets, as well as of the Moldovan market," Efes Vitanta director Iacob Tihman has told a news conference.

Vitanta Premium Extra is a light beer produced in 0.5-litre bottles. The density of this beer is 11%, while the alcohol composition is 5 %. "The new beer aims to occupy the premium beer segment. This product will cost 7-8 lei (0.5 EUR), depending on commercial addition," Tihman noted. The design of the new product was worked out by French specialists.

The company intends to produce about 5 million litres of beer Vitanta Premium Extra, while the share of this product in the overall volume of beer production is expected to reach 12-13 %.

Efest Vitanta covers about 70 percent of the beer market in Moldova, being represented by brands Chisinau, Vitanta Premium, Arc, as well as imported beer Efes, Stary Mlenic and Warsteiner. According to preliminary data, the beer producer registered sales worth 37.5 million dollars in 2005. // BASA-Press
