Brewery news

Carib Brewery Limited advised on December 24 that the prices of its beverages have not changed Trinidad Express communicated. In the advertisement, it listed the VAT-inclusive prices of its products per case with bottle deposits, as well as its suggested VAT-inclusive retail prices.

Industry sources told the Daily Express that the move was necessary since there were complaints from customers that some groceries, liquor marts and wholesale and retail outlets had "jacked-up" the prices of not just Carib, but other liquor brands as well.

This, as Christmas liquor sales continued to be robust. It said that the VAT-inclusive price per carton of Carib Beer or Stag is $92.80, their crates are at $98.80 and their suggested retail price is $5.50. A case of Carlsberg, it said, would go for $118.10, while it would retail for $7.00.
