Brewery news

Greene King brewery started a search campaign in order to find the “Perfect Pub”. The competition is open to all pubs in the country and will be voted for by members of the public. For this purpose the Abbot Ale Perfect Pub Awards ask pub-goers to score their nomination based on service, beer, food, cleanliness and atmosphere.

The results will be divided into 11 regional finalists by an industry panel. The finalists will compete then for the overall title. The 2005 awards attracted 10,000 entries and were won by the Star Inn, in Lidgate Suffolk.

The Marketing director for Greene KingSue Thomas-Taylor, said: “Abbot Ale aims to celebrate establishments that are dedicated to quality. The award helps the local pub-goer reward a pub that truly deserves it.”
