E-Malt.com News article: Finland: Hartwall plans to boost production efficiency
Brewery news

S&N’s Finnish operation announced on September 14 plans to achieve production efficiencies and personnel reduction.

The total number of personnel affected by the cost reduction plan will be around 110 employees. The largest part of the efficiency measure will affect the plant in Tornio, where the closure of one bottling line is planned. Negotiations have started today with the employees concerned.

The company estimates cost savings of over ˆ5m per annum will be achieved from 2006 onwards.

These cost savings will help offset reduced profitability due to severe competition in beer prices, the rapid changes in the market situation and growing imports.

According to its plan, the company will continue to engage in production operations at all its current production plants.

Lapin Kulta is Finland’s best-known and S&N’s strongest beer brand in Finland and S&N is committed to building its future.
