E-Malt.com News article: Bulgaria: Zagorka Brewery fined for breaking the competition rules

Bulgaria's largest brewery Zagorka has been again fined by country’s Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC). The brewery will have to pay BGN 115,000 (€59,000) for breaking the law on the protection of competition, Sofia News Agency posted on June 22.

This is the brewery's second fine on putting at disadvantage its market competitors since the beginning of 2005.

The anti-trust body ruled against Zagorka in the case of a collect-the-caps promotional game for the period April 25-June 30, 2003. The prizes in the competition included an X5 BMW, SeaDoo GTI LE RF Jet Ski and a JVC home entertainment set.
