Dec 10. Canada’s third-largest beer company, Sleeman Breweries Ltd. Its Chairman and CEO, John Sleeman, announced that David Meyers “has resigned to pursue other opportunities”. David Meyers has been being the president of the company for eight months. The President and Chief Operating Officer of the company have been appointed Mr. Knudson, effective January 1, 2003.

Since February 1997, Rick Knudson has held the position of Managing Director, Western Operations. During that period, Sleeman revenues and market share in Western Canada increased substantially. "Rick Knudson has had tremendous success in Western Canada, where he has demonstrated leadership and commitment to meeting the company's growth objectives… His experience exemplifies the bench strength that characterizes the Sleeman management team,'' John Sleeman stated.

Meyers follows Doug Berchtold, who left the brewery for personal reasons in January after 12 years in the company.
