Brewery news

Indian Lake residents will now be able to enjoy craft beer with the opening of the Indian Lake Brewing Company, the Peak of Ohio reported on January 28.

Located at 184 West Main Street in Russells Point, the Indian Lake Brewing Company is in a very spacious building for customers to enjoy craft beer, cider, and hard seltzers. The brewery will also feature wines from the Roundhouse Brewing Company and non-alcoholic beverages including homemade root beer.

The brewery is celebrating its opening weekend this weekend. They will be open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Indian Lake Brewing Company is the sister company of the Roundhouse Depot Brewing Company in Bellefontaine.

Roundhouse owners and operators Ron and Kathy Troyer opened the brewery in Bellefontaine in 2018.

“It’s been a goal of Kathy and I’s for probably a little over two years now,” said Ron. “We started looking at the Lake as a possible second location, bringing craft beer to the Lake. We saw a void, with the people coming in from out of town from the big cities wanting craft beer. We thought it was a gold mine up here.”

The Troyers teamed up with Steve Wenzlick and Rebekah Smith to run the brewery at the Lake.

“They are both accountants. Steve’s a brewery accountant and has been our accountant at Roundhouse since we opened,” said Troyer. “Became real good friends with them. They live up here, so it’s just ideal to ask them to be our partners and kind of oversee everything we have going on up here.”

Troyer later added that he would like to see the Indian Lake Brewing Company become the second Roundhouse.

“Five years down the road, I want this to be what I call Roundhouse, as a gathering place. A place where families and friends can just get together, have a couple of beers, whether you’re out on the boat or in the winter, and just relax.”

The Indian Lake Brewing Company is also offering annual and lifetime Mug Club memberships.
