Barley news

Canadian barley export price indications remain firm, and aligned to France price levels, RMI Analytics said in their latest report earlier this month.

Global market prices have risen to a point where Canada is competitive again on the world stage (crop 2022). Farmer contracting prices for crop 2022 continue to rise in an attempt to secure malting barley area. Prices are still below crop 2021 levels following the drought, which may limit farmer interest.

Imported US corn into Alberta totalled 650 thousand tonnes during February 2022, and continues on a very strong import plan which may reach 5 mln tonnes by the end of this crop year.
