USA, Oregon: Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. announced on January 10 the release of a new beer aptly named Pine Marten Pale Ale. The icy cold adult beverage hit the stores on January 1st to help ring in the New Year. Pine Marten Pale Ale is the first new ale from the Redmond based craft brewery in over 5 years. The handcrafted ale is made with generous amounts of Pearl & Amarillo Hops and specialty Northwest Malts.

“This is truly one of the finest ales Cascade Lakes has ever produced.” Said Trevor Varcoe, brew master for Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. “We have had a great feedback since releasing Pine Marten Pale…we are proud of the finished product.”

Pine Marten Pale Ale is available at most grocery stores and convenience stores in Central Oregon & Portland and also within Mt. Bachelor’s Castle Keep Lounge & a few select Central Oregon restaurants and pubs.

Cascade Lakes Brewing Company was purchased in 2000 by Doug Kutella and Rick Orazetti. The Cascade Lakes Brewery is located in the Redmond Airport Industrial Park where all ales are handcrafted. These include Rooster Tail Ale, Monkey Face Porter, India Pale Ale, Angus MacDouglas Scottish Ale, 20 Inch Brown, and Santa’s Little Helper, among others. The company also acquired the 7th Street Brew House at this time. They continued to expand by acquiring Cascade West in 2002 and adding Doug’s father Ron Kutella as a partner. Most recently, Tumalo Tavern was acquired in 2003 bringing Chris Justema on as a partner. Cascade Lakes Lodge, a restaurant and brew house located at the corner of Century Drive and Chandler opened in May, 2004.

Cascade Lakes is currently using a 20 bbl (600 gallon) brewing system for all of its hand-crafted ales. This gives us plenty of volume but also allows us to keep a careful eye on the process.
