Gem State Brewing Company hopes to bring a new brewery and taproom to downtown Eagle, boisedev.com reported on May 31.

According to plans filed with the City of Eagle, crews would build the new building at 281 E. State St., on the site of a long-abandoned building. The large facility, nearly 4,000 square feet, would sit near Doug’s Burger Den and Sweet Valley Cookie Co.

Plans show seating for about 40 people inside, with extensive patio seating outside along State St. Large production, cooler and tank storage spaces are also planned. Parking for about 7 cars plus bike parking is also planned.

GSB Properties is developing the project – owned by Christopher McGinnis and Kristi Caron of Eagle, and Michele Acuna of Almhult, Sweeden.
