AB InBev’s Zambian Breweries Plc on 28 June 2018 officially opened the US$30 million expansion project of the packaging line located on the Copperbelt, Zambia’s industrial and Mining hub, the Zambia Business Times reported.

Speaking at the official commissioning of the plant in Ndola, company operations director Franz Shepping said the introduction of the state of the heart hi-tech technology will help in improving production and ensure efficient use of resources such as water and energy.

“We are also investing in our employees through training them on how to effectively use and operate this advanced modern equipment,” he said. Shepping said the company is determined to continue contributing to the sustainable growth of the economy, as more than one thousand youths have been employed through the same project.

Minister of Trade, Christopher Yaluma who graced the occasion said the programs been undertaken by Zambian Breweries are a clear testimony of the company’s commitment to the growth of the local economy. “We have to engage the private sector if we are to achieve growth, it is everyone’s responsibility to improve the lives of people. We are committed to enhance the brewing sector and the economy at large,” Yaluma said.
