Russia: Russian brewing company Tinkoff is to launch on October 3 2004 a new restaurant-brewery in Sochi. The brewery is planned to have a production capacity of 30 thousand litres of beer per month. Tinkoff invested about US$ 4.5 million and has built the restaurant-brewery in a year ‘from zero’. That will be the eighth brewery in federal chain “Tinkoff”. The restaurant’s area is 2.1 thousand m2 with 450 places. New brewery created 200 new work places.

“Tinkoff” was founded by Russian businessman Oleg Tinkov in 1998. First, the only one asset of the company was brewery restaurant in St-Petersburg. For today “Tinkoff” is the only one in Russia federal chain of microbrewery restaurants and the brewery of ultrapremium class beer. Turnover of “Tinkoff” in 2003 was 33 million dollars, company has grown more than 4 times for a year. By the end of 2004 “Tinkoff” plans to occupy 3% of Russian market in money terms (in 2003 company occupied 0.5% of the market).

In March 2003 “Tinkoff” set in operation first line of brewery in Pushkin (St-Petersburg) with the cost 20 million dollars and the capacity 125 000 hectoliters of the beer per year. Brewery is the one of the most up-to-date technological manufacture in Russia and Eastern Europe and meets all the requirements of international brewery standards. Brewery makes seven sorts of “Tinkoff” beer now: “Pilsner”, “Lager”, “Porter”, “Bock”, “Weissbier”, “Tequiza” and “Rauchbier”.
