Brewery news

Atlantic Canada Beer Blog reports that a new brewery and pub has opened in Twillingate, a small town on Twillingate Island just off the northeastern shore of Newfoundland.

Split Rock Brewing and its associated Stage Head Pub have been founded by homebrewers Allison and Matt Vincent, along with business partners Tim and Robin Vatcher.

Located at 119 Main Street in Twillingate, Split Rock/Stage Head opened last week, and is offering samples, pints, and growlers of six initial beers: Combines Ale (5.3% abv), Bluff Head Bitter (4.6% abv), Gateway IPA (6.7% abv), Red Sky Red Rye (4.9% abv), Alli’s Big Brown Ale (5.6% abv), and Black Island Stout (6.1% abv).
