Russia: Kaluga Brewery owned by SABMiller has started to brew under licence the famous Czech beer brand Pilsner Urquell. For the beginning the plant plans to output 40,000 hl of this beer brand that exceed four times the quantity of Pilsner Urquell exported to Russia. The brand is originally brewed in Czech Republic at Plzensky Prazdroj, owned by SABMiller.

SABMiller moved into Russia in the late 1990s and built a brewery at Kaluga, 180 kilometres southwest of Moscow to produce local brands Zolotaya Botchka and Tri Bogatyria and its international brews Miller Genuine Draft and Pilsner Urquell.
