Brewery news

Rivertown Brewing is set to undergo a major expansion that will dramatically reshape the look and scope of the brewery, WCPO reported on June 17.

The Lockland-based brewery will take over more than 8,000 square feet of its current facility on August 1.

The brewery’s founder and owner Jason Roeper said he plans on buying a new 50 bbl. brewhouse to ramp up overall production and a small 3-bbl. system to do test batches or specialty beers for accounts. Once the new equipment is ready, Rivertown Brewing will sell its current system.

The brewery will also be installing new 100 bbl. fermenters that have already been purchased.

“We will keep a couple 60 bbl. fermenters for one-off batches but with the new 50 bbl. brewhouse, there’s no sense in keeping the smaller vessels,” Roeper said.

The team doesn't have a set timeframe for the expansion after they take ownership on August 1. However, Roeper’s goal is to have the project complete by the end of 2016.
