Great Divide Brewing Company expanded into Iowa, increasing their scope in the Midwest, brewbound.com reported on September, 16.

Partnering with Johnson Brothers of Iowa for their distribution, Great Divide’s full portfolio of year-round and seasonal beers will be available throughout the state beginning mid September.

“We are thrilled to be adding Great Divide Brewery to our Craft Beer portfolio. Named one of the 12th Best Brewers in the world and one of Beer Advocate’s ‘All Time Best Brewers,’ their accolades speak volumes for the quality of beer they produce,” said Lyle Stutzman, President, Johnson Brothers of Iowa.

Great Divide has been making big strides to increase efficiency and maximize production out of their original downtown Denver location, adding another 10,000 to annual barrelage over the last two years. At maximum capacity, they still have to be strategic in where they send their beer.

“Getting Great Divide to Iowa is no accident. We regularly get requests from all over the country to distribute in one state or another. Our decision to enter Iowa was just as much influenced by the rapidly increasing number of craft beer lovers in the state, hungry for new options, as it was by the passion and persistence of Stutzman and his team to bring bold and flavorful beers to the people of Iowa. We love to see that kind of excitement for our beer,” said Anna Nadasdy, Director of Sales and Marketing, Great Divide Brewing Company.

Paying attention to consumer demands, Stutzman adds, “Great Divide is one of the most requested breweries on our social media. Denver is a destination for many Iowans in all seasons and we see that in their requests for Great Divide Beer.”

Great Divide recently celebrated their 20th anniversary and just broke ground on a second location in the nearby Denver neighborhood of RiNo (River North). The new location will allow for a significant increase in production capabilities over the next few years, and will also include a Barrel Bar, second taproom, and a beer garden. While the new facility won’t be completed for a few years, the company expects to have its new canning line up and running by summer of 2015, giving Iowans something else to look forward to from Great Divide.
