Brewery news

Left Hand Brewing Co., which withdrew from the Iowa market about three years ago, is returning, the company said on July 21.

Beginning in August, the craft beer company will be distributing its products through Johnson Brothers of Iowa.

Left Hand left Iowa in 2011 after demand outpaced production. Since then the company has expanded and added brewing and bottling capacity.

Johnson Brothers will distribute Left Hand's Milk Stout & Milk Stout Nitro, Sawtooth Ale & Sawtooth Nitro, 400 Pound Monkey IPA, Black Jack Porter, Polestar Pilsner, Stranger Pale Ale, as well as seasonal and limited editions beers.

The company, which is based in Longmont, Colo., will offer tastings beginning Aug. 5 at the Urbandale and Waukee Hy-Vee stores, Aug. 6 at the Ankeny and Des Moines Hy-Vees, and Aug. 7 at the Ankeny and Pleasant Hill Hy-Vees.
