Brewery news

Adding another beer to its growing lineup of adventurous ales, GoodLife Brewing Company announced the release of Yukon Cornelius Festive Winter Beer, Brewbound.com reported on December 16.

This brown porter is 5.7% ABV and 30 IBU’s, and is brewed with 6 malts and 2 hops, then dry hopped with cinnamon.

Head Brewer/Owner, Curt Plants, said, “This is the first time we have brewed a big batch with spices, and I didn’t want them to be too dominant of flavors.” Yukon Cornelius was “hop burst” with cinnamon and nutmeg, instead of the large amount of hops normally used. Plants said, “The cinnamon comes thru in the aroma, while you taste the nutmeg in the back end. Mixed with the malts and hops, it gives a tasty spicy, chocolate flavor.”

There is limited production this winter, Yukon Cornelius will be sold on draft in Oregon and Washington. The official release party took place Saturday, December 14, 2013.
