Brewery news

Peter Beauregard and two silent partners are preparing to open Stoneface Brewing in warehouse space in Newington, NH. It is a prominent location in terms of visibility, Seacoastonline.com reported on November 29.

Beauregard said he and his partners hope to tap into the rapid growth of the brewery tourism industry that he sees taking place throughout the Seacoast.

Beauregard, a Dover resident and Stoneface's head brewer, envisions the business growing larger than a nanobrewery, defined as one that sells no more than 2,000 barrels of beer a year. It will begin with the Stoneface IPA, he said.

Beauregard said he is hopeful the brewing process can begin before the end of the year.

Those who visit Stoneface will be able to buy 4-ounce tasters or fill a growler to go. Beauregard said the tasters will be a good way to test out some of the new flavors he and his partners hope to unveil.

The bulk of their business will be selling to stores and restaurants in the area. Beauregard said they are reaching out to local businesses in hopes of getting a foot in the door, and are looking to sell their beer in Maine and Massachusetts as well.

For Beauregard, seeing his vision come to fruition is the culmination of years of following his passion. He graduated with a communications degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2000, but even by his senior year there, he had begun brewing at home.
