E-Malt.com News article: USA, CO: Upslope Brewing enters the lucrative bomber market
Brewery news

As a brewery that exclusively packages in cans, Upslope Brewing has been shut out of the lucrative bomber market, therefore, they made a new entry, denverpost.com reported on May, 28.

The Boulder brewery’s more out-there or higher-alcohol beers – the kind many other craft breweries sell in 22-ounce bottles – have always been confined to the taproom.

Enter the 19.2 ounce can as Upslope co-owner Matt Cutter describes the new single-serve container for an imperial IPA about to be released as the brewery’s fifth year-round beer.

“It’s going to be our entry into the bomber door, where we have always wanted to be,” Cutter said. “We feel this is a great way for us to open those single-serve doors and offer something we don’t have plans to put into a six-pack.”

Cutter said Upslope had talked about packaging a double IPA, which it has brewed before. The timing was right as cans from Ball Corp. became available, Upslope’s new second, larger Boulder brewery got humming and the original brewhouse on Lee Hill Road was able to handle production of the new beer, he said.

Cutter said the Upslope Imperial IPA should retail at $6.99 and will be released in Colorado stores on Monday.
