Brewery news

Heineken beer, the premium light beer from Dutch manufacturer Heineken, has been released in the Chandigarh and Haryana markets in India, Drinks Business Review reported on October, 16.

Heineken will be brewed at UB's Brewery in Taloja, India and will be available in 650ml and 330ml bottles.

The beer, which has also been launched in some Indian domestic markets in 2011, was unveiled by United Breweries marketing senior vice-president Samar Singh Sheikhawat.

Heineken is planning to capture 10% market share in the premium light beer category in Chandigarh within a year.

According to Business Standard, Samar Singh Sheikhawat has opined that the Indian beer industry will be aiming a double digit growth in 2012 due to favourable Indian market conditions.
