Brewery news

The Pennsylvania house of representatives has passed a bill allowing craft breweries to get permits to sell their products at farmers' markets and at craft beer and food expositions, The Drinks Business Review reported on October, 5.

The bill is expected to allow brewers to sell their products even better by increased participation in the market.

House Liquor Control Committee Democratic chairman Santoni said that the permits given to brewers through this bill would be similar to the special permits offered to Pennsylvania wineries.

"The fee paid for the permit would be $30 a day for each day of permitted use, not to exceed 30 days," Santoni added.

"The total number of days for all special permits would not exceed 100 days in a calendar year.''

Springettsbury-based Mr. Steve's Homebrew and Wine Supplies owner Steve Stoppard welcomed the passage of the bill and said it might improve the wealth of the craftbrew industry.
