Brewery news

Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery has reported a 53% increase in revenue for the first half of 2012, along with a 47% rise in depletions, Shanken News Daily reported on August, 8.

The company is on pace to produce 90,000 barrels this year, up from 59,000 barrels in 2011. Growth is being supported by the brewer’s ongoing $3.5 mln improvement project at its Longmont, Colorado facility—which recently added 14 200-barrel fermenters, two 400-barrel bright beer tanks and a new canning line—as well as its July expansion into the Alabama market.

Further expansion into Chicago is slated for later this month.

Earlier this week, Oskar Blues announced that it would also start up production at its new East Coast brewery in Brevard, North Carolina, this December.
