E-Malt.com News article: USA, WA: Bale Breaker Brewing Company to open in the Yakima Valley
Brewery news

A longtime Yakima Valley farming family is branching out and expanding their business. They broke ground on a brand new brewery just outside of Moxee, Kndo.com reported on August, 3.

Meghann Quinn's great grandparents first planted hops in the Yakima Valley in 1932, that's 80 years ago. And they have continued to grow their farm business ever since.

Meghann and her husband Kevin, along with her brother Patrick, broke ground on their newest endeavor, the Bale Breaker Brewing Company.

It's a 10,000 sq. foot facility that will brew beer using hops from their backyard.

Meghann says hops and beer are two things that are very close to their heart, so this brewery just made sense.

"More breweries the better. Just raising the level of awareness and getting people interested in coming out to the valley and seeing what we have going on out here. Hops are such a big part of the Yakima Valley so I think that's important for us to really start showcasing."

Quinn says they hope to finish construction by winter and have several types of beer available in their on-site tasting room, for sale in local restaurants, and even available in grocery stores.

The brewery will be surrounded by their family hops farm.
