E-Malt.com News article: France: SABMiller’s unit to get new General Manager next week
Brewery news

As from April, 2, Bertrand Van Renynghe will become the General Manager of SABMiller’s French division, succeeding Aj Cook who will head the company’s Scandinavian unit, Rayon-Boissons reported on March, 29.

The two units make part of the world’s second largest brewer’s division called SABMiller Brands Europe - the subsidiary that runs operations in 35 markets in Europe and Middle East where SABMiller does not own a brewery locally (such as Germany, France, Spain, the Scandinavian nations, Austria, etc).

The nomination of a new head signals SABMiller’s intentions to reinforce its position in France, where the strong Amsterdam beer sells its largest volume: 150 thousand hl per year, it is reported.

Gilles Badin, Marketing Director at SABMiller’s French unit, said the promotion of Grolsch and Peroni brands will also become a priority this year.
