E-Malt.com News article: Germany: Paulaner beer claims new export record in 2011
Brewery news

Bavarian brewery Paulaner has announced growth rates of nearly 40% in the Asia-Pacific region for 2011, which it claims is a new export record for the year, PRNewswire reported on March, 20.

“We are very satisfied with our export results. The strong growth in Asia and the Pacific Region, with 40% growth there exceeding even the most optimistic forecasts,” said Marcus Korte, Paulaner’s head of international sales.

Paulaner continues to develop new products to maintain its position. “We want to continue to position Paulaner as an innovative leader in the market, so we are investing heavily this year in non-alcoholic wheat beer in particular. Because of the good taste and the high degree of consumer acceptance, we are also very optimistic as regards this segment,” claims Korte.

“If this year continues to proceed as well as it started, our corporation will achieve the magic threshold of 1 million hectolitres in exports in 2012. That would be a real sensation.”

In addition to strong growth in the Asia-Pacific region, the company’s sales increased by nearly 29% in Poland in 2011 and more than 10% in Spain.
