E-Malt.com News article: Germany: Barley production forecast 1 mln tonnes higher than last year

The association of German farm cooperatives, Deutscher Raiffeisenverband, estimates the 2012 grain production in Germany at 44.7 mln tonnes vs. 41.9 mln tonnes in 2011.

Wheat production is expected at 24.2 mln tonnes (22.8 mln tonnes last year).

Barley production is forecast at 9.9 mln tonnes (8.7) on 1.7 mln ha (1.6 mln ha last year), thereof spring barley at 2.1 mln tonnes (unchanged from last year) on 431,000 ha (420,000).
