Brewery news

Flatlander’s Brewing Company, which has operated at 200 Village Green for 16 years in Lincolnshire, will relocate to Mundelein in two weeks, Drinks Business Review reported on January, 12.

Flatlander's will join the Tighthead Brewing, which is located on Archer Avenue near the downtown Metra station, in Mundelein.

Flatlander's owner Russ Sher said the company will pour its last brews on 22 January. Sher said a range of factors along with the desire to sell more beer have forced him to relocate.

He will also open a new restaurant without the on-site microbrewery, in early February in Vernon Hills and will continue brewing at the new site in Mundelein.

The beers will be on tap at his new restaurant and will become a separate operation - Old Chicago Brewing.

Flatlander's Brewing has brewed its first batch of beer in 1996. The company has brewed around 50 different styles of beers and almost double that amount in different beer names in the last 16 years.
