E-Malt.com News article: USA, LA: Bayou Teche launches a new beer in honor of Mardi Gras culture
Brewery news

Louisiana-based Bayou Teche Brewing has launched a new beer, Courir de Mardi Gras, in honor of rural Mardi Gras traditions, Beer Drinks Review reported on December, 23.

Courir de Mardi Gras, a version of French farmhouse brew biere de mars, will be available only during the next few months.

Bayou Teche Brewmaster Karlos Knott said not many of these kinds of beers are brought into America. It's made in small batches in France with fresh ingredients right off the farm.

Knott added the new beer also is designed to honor the rural Mardi Gras culture, and Acadiana culture in general.

Knott said he and his family hosted a joint crawfish boil with members of Valcour Records and their families in June, where they discussed the idea of some type of joint collaboration. Those talks eventually led to the creation of the new beer and the partnership for the free downloads.

The Courir de Mardi Gras beer will be available at all retailers and restaurants that sell Bayou Teche Brewing products.
