Brewery news

California-based Stone Brewing Company has launched a new collaboration beer, which is the fifth in 2011, called 'The Alchemist / Ninkasi / Stone More Brown Than Black IPA', Drinks Business Review reported on December, 20

Stone Brewing brewmaster Mitch Steele teamed up with Oregon-based Ninkasi Brewing Company co-founder and brewmaster Jamie Floyd and John Kimmich of The Alchemist Pub & Brewery of Vermont to produce the collaboration brew.

More Brown Than Black IPA has an ABV of 7.4% and comes in 12oz bottles. The collaboration brew is available in 17 states including Arizona, Vermont, Florida, Ohio and California.

Proceeds from the sales of More Brown Than Black IPA will go directly to the Waterbury Good Neighbor Fund, a non-profit organization aiding families affected by Hurricane Irene.

Stone Brewing earlier brewed the 'Baird / Ishii / Stone Japanese Green Tea IPA', a collaboration beer that raised $64,000 for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Other collaboration beers of the company include Le Citrueille Celeste, Cherry Chocolate Stout, Highway 78 Scotch Ale, San Diego County Session Ale and Saison Du Buff, among others.
