E-Malt.com News article: Australia: Foster’s to launch five of SABMiller’s global brands in January

Carlton United Brewers (CUB), the beer unit of Foster's Group, said on December, 20 five global beer brands of SABMiller will become part of its international beer portfolio with effect from 16 January 2012.

SABMiller's brands, including Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Miller Genuine Draft, Miller Chill, Grolsch Premium Lager and Pilsner Urquell, will join the CUB global brand repertoire.

Foster's Group chief executive Ari Mervis said the increased offering in the rapidly growing premium beer segment will create new opportunities for customers.

SABMiller is yet to acquire the remaining 50% stake in Pacific Beverages from Coca Cola Amatil, which will bring all brands and operations under the CUB business from 16 January.

Pacific Beverages, which operates only in Australia and New Zealand, manufactures and exclusively distributes Bluetongue beer and other brands owned by SABMiller, including Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Miller Genuine Draft, Miller Chill, Grolsch and Pilsner Urquell.
