Brewery news

Calgary will soon be home to a new craft brewing company, Village Brewery, Canadian Beer News reported on September, 27.

With the backing of six partners including former Big Rock executives Jim Button and Tim Duffin, Village Brewery is currently under construction in an industrial area in the southeast of Calgary, with an aim to have beer in production and available by late fall.

The brewery will initially be a draught-only operation, with kegs available to licensees and growlers for consumers, plus an on-site tasting room for samples. Bottled product may follow in the longer term, and a retail storefront in a more central part of the city is planned within two years.
