E-Malt.com News article: Russia: Grain harvest 4.4 mln tonnes higher than last year as of August, 8

As of August 8, Russia harvested 39.8 mln tonnes of grain (bunker weight) as compared to 35.4 mln tonnes on the same date last year, the Agriculture Ministry reports.

The barley harvest stood at 5.4 mln tonnes versus 5.1 mln tonnes a year ago. Barley yields averaged 2.6 t/ha compared to 1.9 t/ha in 2010.
