Brewery news

There's a little known segment of the Bottle Bill creating a fuss in Albany, New York, this week - it's all about aluminium beer bottles, the New York Daily News reported on July, 1.

The bottles have become a popular item at New York bars and ballparks but they are technically illegal in New York State.

The state's 1982 Bottle Bill requires metal beverage containers to include no detachable caps.

Sen. Mark Grisanti said that lobbyists for MillersCoors approached lawmakers about changing the law which they did in final hours of their session. The bill is headed to Gov. Cuomo's desk but there is no word on if he will sign the bill.
