Ukraine brewed about 14.98 million hl of beer in 2002, out of which 1.08 million hl was exported. In 1985 Ukrainian beer production registered 14.56 million hl of beer and in USSR period beer practically was not shipped abroad. According to Ukrpivo, last year the most beer was produced by Sun Interbrew Ukraine – 4.349 million hl. Sun Interbrew Ukraine with its brands Rogani, Getman, Chernigoske, Yantar, Taller, Taller Ice and Stella Artois held 32.2% of the whole Ukrainian market in 2002. The second place on the Ukrainian market is of Oboloni with 22.4% of the market share. Oboloni sold 3.031 million hl of beer in 2002 on the local market. Every fifth liter of Oboloni beer is exported. The third place is held by BBH Ukraine with Slavutich, Slavutich Liodove, Lvivske and Tuborg brands. BBH Ukrane sold 2.721 million hl of beer in 2002 and had 20.1% of the internal beer market. The forth comes Sarmat with 2.152 million litres of beer sold and 15.9% of the Ukrainian beer market.
