Canada: Bob King, President of Big Rock Brewery and Jim Brickman, President of Brick Brewing Co. Limited of Waterloo, Ontario, two of Canada's leading specialty brewers, announce on December 01 an agreement between them, according to Business Wire. Beginning December 1, 2003, Brick will be producing and distributing selected Big Rock draught products in the province of Ontario. Brick's highly regarded brewing credentials will adhere to Big Rock's stringent standards to produce all natural high quality beers. All ingredients, including Big Rock's special yeast, will be used for consistency of the draught products.

As part of a reciprocal arrangement, Big Rock's Alberta sales team will represent selected Brick products in the Alberta marketplace. Red Cap, in the "Stubby" bottle, which has become popular in Ontario, will be the initial Brick brand promoted and sold by Big Rock in Alberta. "We have had a mutual respect for each other for many years now and it only seemed natural that we should be doing something together. We are excited about the prospects," commented Jim Brickman, President and Founder of Brick Brewing. Bob King, President of Big Rock Brewery added "Our goals are similar. This relationship helps maximize the synergies and strengths we each have in our respective markets thus improving our geographical market reach cost effectively."

Big Rock is a regional producer and marketer of premium all natural quality beers, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Big Rock's products are available in draught, bottles and cans. The Company also produces and distributes cider and cooler products. Big Rock's products are marketed in six provinces and three territories in Canada and in the western United States.

Brick Brewing Co. Limited was founded by Jim Brickman in 1984 and was the first craft brewery to start up in Eastern Canada in recent decades. Brick beers are all natural, contain no additives or preservatives and are reassuringly craft brewed to deliver a variety of refreshing tastes. Brick is credited as being one of the pioneers of the present day beer renaissance in Canada.
