Czech beer imports totalled 740 thousand hl in January – October this year, which is twice as much as in entire 2009, RIA-Novosti reported on December, 16.

According to Jan Vesely, chairman of the Czech Beer and Malt Association, about 50% of the total imports come from Poland.

The Czechs are now buying less local beer which is more expensive than the foreign brands.
