Brewery news

France’s largest brewer Brasseries Kronenbourg plans to increase the price of its products by 1.5 - 2% as a consequence of soaring raw material costs, Rayon Boissons reported on October, 22.

The heat wave that devastated Russia’s grain this summer and the problems encountered by other grain producing countries have resulted in a 60 – 80% increase in malting barley prices.

Brasseries Kronenbourg have cushioned the blow due to previously signed long-term agreements, but there still are some costs that the company cannot absorb, Thomas Amstutz, the CEO of Carlsberg’s subsidiary, said without specifying when the increases would come into force.
