The Danish brewing giant, Carlsberg Breweries A/S, announced on October 29 that Jørn Tolstrup Rohde, 42 years old, has been appointed Senior Vice President in the company with effect from 1 January 2004. Jørn Tolstrup Rohde comes from a position as managing director of KiMs A/S in Denmark and is furthermore a member of the board of management of Chips Scandinavian Company AB, Finland.

Jørn Tolstrup Rohde will head a new department responsible for the development and implementation of programmes designed to strengthen Carlsberg Breweries' global sales activities. As part of the job and in co-operation with the sales- and marketing directors in Carlsberg Breweries' subsidiaries, Jørn Tolstrup Rohde is to identify and implement best practice within customer service and the sale of beer through different sales channels.
